Yet Another Loss
Saturday afternoon in Ste. Agathe was another disappointing one for the T-Wolves. They lost to the Southwinds by a score of 11-2. They were out skated and out played all game. Unlike last year the third has been the T-Wolves best period, and it was again on Saturday. One could argue that this is a direct correlation to the fact that the T-Wolves are usually trailing by a lot going into the third and therefor the opponent is relaxing a little instead of going for more. Or maybe the T-Wolves are just playing good hockey in the third but for some reason can not do it in the first two periods. This weekend's double header should be a good test for the Wolves. They will have to put a complete game together in order to win, and with two shots at it in quick succession one can only hope that they figure something out. The first game is on Saturday against the Heaters and the second is against the expansion team Hell Rams who earlier this season beat the Classics 15-5. That tilt goes Sunday. Both games are in Niverville and the T-Wolves will once again have the services off Matthew Thiessen for both games and Jerome Thiessen for the game on Saturday.
T-Wolves Lose But Learn Defense
The T-Wolves played two games this last weekend and despite the fact they lost both games, many are arguing that it was a defensive success. They got things under way against the Heaters on Saturday afternoon. The Pack played a good game overall but found themselves behind 3-2 at the end of play. The Wolves welcomed back Kenton Thiessen on their defense and results were immediately seen. The T-Wolves played their two best defensive games of the year with alot of help coming from their goaltender Tim Thiessen. On Sunday they lost 2-0 to the expansion Hell Rams and once again they played very good defensively. The T-Wolves had some extra help up front this weekend with Jonathan, Jerome and Mike Wiebe all playing on Saturday. As well they had
Matthew for both games. Wayne Gryde was absent on the blue line as he was attending to family matters. Some reporters are using these past two games as proof that Gryde is over paid in that the Wolves had their two best defensive games in his absence. Hopefully he does not use this as an excuse to play forward (Crossing my fingers). Just kidding bud. Once Wayne returns the Wolves can bump Josh up to forward which I am sure he will not mind. This coming weekend is a bye week for the T-Wolves. They are using this week to get healthy and to go be with their families back home. Their next game is coming up on November 24th in Ste. Agathe against the Chiefs. Maybe this time the Wolves will be able to hold onto the lead.
